I love remember the milk, but for some reason, I always stop using it after a while. I just forget about it for weeks, and with that, my organization starts falling apart.
One of the reasons is that there’s no remember the milk app for my phone (an n900). I do have the remember the milk app installed on my ipod touch, but I almost never use it.
I thought that, as I spend most of my working hours in front of the pc, I could try and use a desktop app for remember the milk. It’d be just as easy to open a browser window and go to the remember the milk site, but there’s one huge advantage in a desktop app: it’s always there, handy, reminding you that is there and it won’t leave.
So, in my search, I found two, and decided for one: Remember the task. The interface will look very familiar, and that’s because it should. This app is just a wrap for the remember the milk gmail gadget. That’s why I liked it. It’s sort of official, and it doesn’t try to replicate all the functionality of the website. It’s a simple widget, with enough information about your tasks, and it makes it easy and quick to create new items for your lists. Simple.
The other app that I wanted to mention is App for the milk. It has a lot of potential, and it supports all of the main functionality, plus offline access, which is great. I didn’t like it that much because to me, it didn’t offer any real advantage over the website and the widget, but maybe you’ll find it useful.
